Cremants are made in the same way as champagne, often termed as 'traditional method'. Bordeaux cremants can be made from several grape varieties.
Here are some of our favourites.
100% Semillon
Rose wines have been made in the Bordeaux region for many years, perhaps a little overlooked their ever growing in popularity has brought rose wines made in non-traditional ways to the fore.
Here are some of our favourites.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Direct pressing means a pale dry rose, no filtering means no loss of flavour.
Clean - Dry - Strawberries & Cream
50% Merlot & 50% Malbec
Traditional style Bordeaux rose - think of this more as a very light red wine. Perfect with light bites and apero on a summer day.
Dry - Fruity - Light bodied
Rich fruit with noticeable sweetness - here is Bordeaux's answer to White Zin.
Medium Sweet - Very Fruity - Light bodied
These days Bordeaux might be more famous for its reds but historically white wines were just as important. The key white grape varieties found are Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle - all of which provide different styles that can often be blended to increase complexity. Indeed, some examples use gentle oak to provide more roundness and structure that lets them work better with food.
Semillon and Sauvignon Gris
Semillon provides the body and soft mouth feel, Sauvignon Gris provides the floral and fruit flavours. Gentle use of oak, then gives this an elegant complexity.
Soft - Complex - Fruity
100% Sauvignon Blanc
Fresh and dry this ripe but mineral crisp expression of a Sauvignon Blanc is perfect for a summer day. The citrus acidity pairs it well with fish and seafood.
Zingy - Citrus - Mineral
66% Sauvignon Blanc 33% Sauvignon Gris
Fresh and dry picked perfectly ripe this is more in the style of a Loire Sancerre - minerality and citrus give a perfect wine for summer. The delicate floral note gives a subtle depth not often found.
Crisp - Citrus - Floral
Bordeaux is often synonymous with red wines, traditionally Cabernet Sauvignon led blends from the (slightly) warmer left bank and merlot led blends from the right bank. Changing climate and viticulture practices have meant this view is not so true these days. Also, changing tastes mean far more red wine is produced that is less 'woody' and tannic - providing more fruit forward expressions.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Cabernet Franc
This wine epitomises a classic but modern Bordeaux red. Structured, the hand harvesting and sorting really show through. We stock several vintages showing how terroir really shows through.
Classic - Structured - Ageable
Often forgotten in more modern times, Bordeaux is renowned for these tragically under-rated gems. Once given the opportunity to try these, many people realise just what they are missing.
Here are some of our favourites.
100% Semillon. This is a classic Sauternes with a high amount of botrytis giving that beautiful orange marmalde, honey and lingering elegance that develops beautifully. Will age for decades.
Luscious - Elegant - Ageable
